Bill Boublitz
keyboardist for the Blue Line, was born in Baltimore, MD. His training
from early on, was on the piano. He switched to organ after hearing Don
Patterson perform in 1978. He recieved his formal training at the New England
Conservatory. Among his strong influences are Duke Ellington and Miles Davis.
In his professional career he has worked with Jimmy Witherspoon and the
late Clifford Jordan.
In 1988, he met Robben through a musician who'd heard him play. He joined
the group for a West Coast tour, followed by Europe in 1989. Additional
dates in NYC, and and East Coast tour led to his playing on the first Blueline
CD, followed by a recording for saxophonist Bob Malach. Officially joining
the band 1995 Bill says, " The last months have produced some fantastic
music. I know the coming months will yield further conceptual and textural
exploration. Working with a band that is constantly evolving is the highest
artistic reward. I look forward to sharing the music with everyone."
At this time we are waiting to hear from the guys over in Europe as to their
equipment. Bill being the newest member of the band we are not as familiar
with his equipment set up. We hope to have that information here within
a couple of weeks, as well as some shots of Bill playing with the band!
